COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith was present on Wednesday as new AD Ross Bjork was introduced to media, fans and players and coaches of the university, but there are still more months to wait before the official transition takes place. Bjork, who was at Texas A&M for the last five years, is still technically, as he said, working for Texas A&M. The Ohio State board of trustees still has to approve the hire of Bjork at the next scheduled meeting in February. Bjork is set to take over on July 1. The first major hire by new university president Walter “Ted” Carter Jr., Bjork will have to split his time over the next few weeks between Texas and Ohio as the transition begins.
