ARLINGTON, Texas — In Ohio State football’s best-case scenario for the Cotton Bowl, Devin Brown’s first career start would bring clarity to the most important question of the offseason. Instead, the only thing we know for certain after a 14-3 loss to Missouri is Brown cannot catch a break. He ended the first quarter in pain, started the second quarter on a stationary bike and spent the second half watching true freshman Lincoln Kienholz try to keep his head above water against a top-10 opponent. Brown came into the game with a compromised right ankle — the one he kept taped up for precautionary reasons after a midseason sprain.
