COLUMBUS, Ohio — One night before he stands shoulder to shoulder with the other best players in the nation, Ohio State football’s Marvin Harrison Jr. was recognized as the best receiver anywhere. Harrison became the first Buckeye to win the Biletnikoff Award — given annually to the nation’s best receiver — since Terry Glenn won the inaugural award in 1995. Harrison was a finalist for the second straight year. He almost came up short again. The TCQ Foundation, which sponsors the award, said he won by a 1-vote margin. The other finalists were Washington’s Rome Odunze and LSU’s Malik Nabers. Harrison will be back in the spotlight Saturday night at Radio City Music Hall in New York City as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.
