Ohio State football All-America tracker 2023: Who joins Buckeye Grove?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — With every All-America list Marvin Harrison Jr. makes in the next week, he climbs closer to an even more exclusive list of Ohio State football greats. Only four Buckeyes made unanimous All-America status twice in their careers: Orlando Pace, Archie Griffin, Hopalong Cassady and Bob Ferguson. None of them played wide receiver. Harrison can add to his distinction of becoming the program’s first with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and first receiver voted a Heisman Trophy finalist. To earn consensus All-America status, players must be recognized by three of the following five lists: The American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, The Sporting News, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Football Writers Association of America. Any player who achieves first-team status from a reputable list, though, receives a tree in Buckeye Grove on the south end of Ohio Stadium. These Buckeyes have been honored so far…
