CLEVELAND, Ohio — Monday, Ohio State starting quarterback, Kyle McCord, surprisingly opted to spend his final year of eligibility someplace else by entering the transfer portal. McCord was a solid QB this season, leading the Buckeyes to an 11-1 season, a come-from-behind win over Notre Dame, and a big win over Penn State, but OSU failed to beat Michigan as McCord threw two picks, one of which set up UM’s first TD. As a result there was much speculation about his motivation to leave OSU. Was it because of the lukewarm praise offered up by coach Day in the aftermath of The Game or the coach’s refusal to name a starter at QB for the Cotton Bowl versus Missouri?
