COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State football team is sitting on the outside of the College Football Playoff for the second time in the Ryan Day era, but this year feels a little different. When the Buckeyes were left out in 2021, the Rose Bowl felt like a chance to set the tone for the next year with so many young players getting a chance to shine and build optimism. In 2022 they had a little hope that maybe they could backdoor into the postseason if a couple of things went their way during conference championship weekend, and they did.
