How Jack Sawyer, J.T. Tuimoloau and the rest of Ohio State’s defense graded vs. Rutgers


PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Another week goes by where Ohio State needed its defense to be its better half and the unit answered the call in a 35-16 win over Rutgers. Whether it was because of turnovers, trick plays or a weekly special teams blunder, the Buckeyes constantly found themselves in unfavorable spots having to keep the Scarlet Knights out of the endzone. Each time they did so affording the offense more time to figure things out. The defense even sparked the scoring surge once again thanks to Jordan Hancock getting his first career interception that he took back for a touchdown to open up the second half. That interception was the result of Josh Proctor making a play to breakup a pass which also cost the sixth-year senior the rest of the game.
