Rutgers-Ohio State availability report: Scarlet Knights down 2 defensive starters vs. No. 1 Buckeyes


Rutgers will be down two defensive starters for its biggest opportunity of the season. The Scarlet Knights (6-2, 3-2), who host No. 1 Ohio State (8-0, 5-0) at SHI Stadium at noon on Saturday, will be without starting nose tackle Mayan Ahanotu, according to the availability report released by the Big Ten. He joins linebacker Tyreem Powell, who is ruled out for the season with a hand injury, head coach Greg Schiano revealed last week. The good news: Rutgers will get some defensive reinforcement along the line. Defensive lineman Rene Konga, who missed his team’s last three games after sustaining an injury in its blowout win over Wagner, is not listed as out for the first time in a month.
