Ohio State is No. 1 in the first College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings of the 2023 season. The Buckeyes are followed by No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Florida State. All four of those teams are 8-0 and would be in the playoff if it started right now. Washington rounded out the top five and leads a group of six Pac-12 teams that are in the rankings, all in the top 20. The Oregon Ducks are No. 6, while the Oregon State Beavers are No. 16, the Utah Utes are No. 18, the UCLA Bruins are 19th and the USC Trojans are 20th. The rankings were unveiled Tuesday afternoon in the first of six sets of rankings from now through the end of the season.
