Ohio State transfer Dom Vidoli motivated to play former team with Omaha hockey this weekend

Perhaps no Omaha hockey player is looking forward to this weekend more than Dom Vidoli. The defenseman transferred after spending three seasons at Ohio State. The Buckeyes come calling this weekend in a two-game series that begins Friday at 7:07 p.m. at Baxter Arena. “It’s exciting,” he said. “It’ll be fun to have some of my old buddies back.” Vidoli, a graduate student, appeared in 58 games for Ohio State. He had four goals and eight assists and also blocked 51 shots. He didn’t waste any time getting on the scoresheet with the Mavericks. He scored in the first period of UNO’s 8-1 season-opening win over Niagara on Oct. 13. “It was nice to get that first one early,” he said. “We had a bunch of guys scoring that night, so it was pretty cool for all of us.” People are also reading… Vidoli was injured late in that game…
