COLUMBUS, Ohio — Every offseason on the Buckeye Talk Podcast we make predictions on various topics on the upcoming Ohio State football season. Those topics range from awards, stats, All-American selections and College Football Playoff picks. Two years ago, we had a colorful discussion about just how many catches the top player in the Buckeyes’ tight end would have with Jeremy Ruckert holding that position at the time. One of us stood on the side that they wouldn’t be shocked if Ruckert had less than 20 catches. The prediction wasn’t based on Ruckert’s ability but on a reflection of the tight end usage — or lack thereof — in OSU’s passing game over time.
