WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Amidst a gray, windy Indiana day at Ross-Ade Stadium, Ohio State did its part to make Saturday afternoon boring. And considering the circumstances, that might be the highest possible compliment the Buckeyes could have received. In a 41-7 win over Purdue, Ohio State played a clearly overmatched team and did what it had to do to ensure that there was no thought of a competitive game. The offense took an early lead. The defense stood tall when it had to. And after a solid opening drive from the Boilermakers, there were hardly any sustained drives for the rest of the first half. Ohio State now has Penn State upcoming, with massive Big Ten and College Football Playoff implications on the line. There are issues to clean up, and health to worry about, but Saturday’s stomping of Purdue can at least ease minds for a few days…
