Ohio State football star cornerback leaves Purdue game due to apparent injury


WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Ohio State football cornerback’s stellar third season experienced at least a brief interruption Saturday at Purdue. Burke left the game in the third quarter after being involved on a tackle at the end of a big Boilermaker gain. He first went to the medical tent on the sideline, then headed to the locker room. Freshman Jermaine Mathews came into the game to replace him. Jordan Hancock has also begun playing more outside cornerback. Burke had not returned to the sideline two series later. Leading 34-0 late in the third quarter, Ohio State will presumably not push to have arguably its best defensive back on the field again today.
