That 13-0 win by No. 4 Ohio State over No. 1 Purdue in Ohio Stadium on a sunny October afternoon announced just how good the Buckeyes’ sophomore class – led by players like Jack Tatum, Rex Kern and John Brockington – was in the days when freshmen were ineligible and were never seen on the field until they became sophomores.
