What Ohio State’s new three-star safety commit will add: Buckeye Breakfast


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State earned a commitment from three-star safety Leroy Roker earlier this week, giving the defense a badly-needed second safety commit in the 2024 class. He’ll join three-star Jaylen McClain as the other safety commitment in the class as the badly-needed second addition. But with Roker, what are the Buckeyes getting? First and foremost, adding Roker to the class gives them some sorely needed depth at the position. Josh Proctor will be leaving after the season, and Lathan Ransom, Ja’Had Carter and Cam Martinez have the option to do so as well. Discounting any potential transfers, the Buckeyes’ defense simply needed numbers on the back-end. For a safety-driven defense, adding at least two in the class was a must.
