A new wrinkle to Ohio State’s short-yardage playcalling? Buckeye Bits


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Count Caden Curry as someone that would give the ball to Caden Curry. Ohio State’s defensive end/fullback/Whatever Back has been a Swiss army knife for the Buckeyes this season, as he’s lined up at fullback in short-yardage situations to try and help the offense run the ball more effectively. Primarily, he’s a defensive end. When the situation calls for it, he’s an old-school fullback, whose job is to clear enough of a lane for the running back to get the yard(s) he needs. But there’s one wrinkle that Ohio State hasn’t shown, and it’s one Curry cracked he wouldn’t be opposed to: Giving him the ball. When asked if there was more involved than just blocking down the road, Curry laughed. “I hope so,” he said. “I don’t really make the plays.
