COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Saturday game against Maryland missed being a matchup of AP Top 25 teams by only nine points. The Buckeyes remained No. 4 in the rankings after their idle week. Maryland improved to 5-0 with a blowout of Indiana. The Terrapins were the top vote-getter among teams that didn’t make the top 25, only nine points behind No. 25 Louisville. Georgia remained No. 1 with 35 votes for the top spot. However, both No. 2 Michigan (12 No. 1 votes) and No. 3 Texas (10) received increased support. Georgia needed a late touchdown to win at unranked Auburn. Michigan rolled over Nebraska and Texas thumped then-No. 24 Kansas.
