Despite a more convincing 35-7 win over Youngstown State the previous day, the Buckeyes dropped a spot to No. 6, marking a second consecutive week they slid in the top-25 ranking. Texas, which upset previously fourth-ranked Alabama, and Southern California, which routed rival Stanford, leaped the Buckeyes to round out the top five.
