Ohio State matchup awaits former Columbus-area high school football players

Several central Ohio athletes should contribute to Ohio State’s pursuit of Big Ten and national championships. Former area high school football players on the Buckeyes include the Pickerington trio of junior defensive end Jack Sawyer (North), junior cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr. (Central) and Styles’ sophomore brother, Sonny, who plays safety and also went to Central. Lorenzo Jr. is a transfer from Notre Dame. Other locals include seniors Quinton Burke (Lancaster, OL), Patrick Gurd (New Albany, TE), Ty Hamilton (Pickerington Central, DT) and Chad Ray (Dublin Scioto, QB); juniors Collin Johnson (New Albany, LS), Casey Magyar (Dublin Coffman, K), Jace Middleton (Olentangy, TE), Austin Snyder (Groveport, K) and Toby Wilson (Olentangy, OL); sophomores David Adolph (Dublin Jerome, WR) and Gabe Powers (Marysville, LB); and freshmen Ryan Rudzinski (Watterson, S) and Will Smith Jr. (Dublin Coffman, DL).
