Ohio State is through a week of preseason training camp after holding its first practice in full pads on Wednesday. Here’s what we’ve learned. 1. The starting quarterback competition remains unsettled The odds of coach Ryan Day picking between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown at this stage was improbable. The Buckeyes are not holding their first intrasquad scrimmage until Saturday, a stage that will be used to continue to evaluate the passers. “We’ll compare the statistics,” Day said, “but there’s also the eyeball test.” There is not much separation between McCord and Brown on the surface. Day maintained this week that the high-profile competition to succeed C.J.
