INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio State football’s Devin Brown beat the recovery timetable doctors originally gave him after he fractured the pinkie finger on his throwing hand a week before the Spring Game. Physically, that meant the second-year quarterback jumped back into the competition with third-year Kyle McCord. Buckeyes coach Ryan Day said Brown can now focus on all the other factors that would make him a starting-caliber quarterback as early as this season. “Great summer,” Day said. “He came back, coming off of that last break, and he was ready to go from there. He didn’t miss anything from then on and has put on some weight. He’s gotten stronger.
