Shelby volleyball standout Navea Gauthier commits to Ohio State University

MUSKEGON – Navea Gauthier established herself as a can’t-miss prospect on the volleyball court since her freshman season at Shelby High School. The soon-to-be junior has grown into a nationally sought-after playmaker following a strong offseason circuit last summer and a dominant sophomore campaign at the prep level that featured first team All-State honors from the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association. The 6-foot-2 power hitter was also selected as a member of the USA National Team Development Program (NTDP) this past April, as she competed against the top 170 girls volleyball players in her age group. Gauthier added another milestone in her volleyball career Tuesday, as she verbally committed to Ohio State University.
