Ohio State is planning for a scarlet-out as it hosts Penn State in football this fall. The school on Wednesday announced it would “Scarlet the Shoe” for its game against the Nittany Lions on Oct. 21. The Buckeyes called for fans to wear scarlet to Ohio Stadium for similarly themed games in each of the past two seasons, including their most recent matchup with Penn State at the Horseshoe in 2021. As they met the Nittany Lions in Columbus two years ago, they also wore all-scarlet “Color Rush” uniforms, though they did not do so for last October’s “Scarlet the Shoe” game against Iowa. There are no plans for a “blackout” game. Ohio State had one against Wisconsin last season. No kickoff time has been announced for the upcoming game against Penn State.
