COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State can once again say that it kept the best player in its backyard home following a commitment from Bryce West of Glenville High School The nation’s No. 49 player and No. 4 cornerback chose the Buckeyes over 30 other schools with the final battle coming down to them and Michigan. His decision as he’s one of seven players currently taking official visits in Columbus. This marks the sixth-straight cycle that Ohio’s No. 1 player has ended up a Buckeye dating back to Zach Harrison doing so as a five-star recruit in the 2019 class. Overall, OSU’s 2024 class has six in-state commits with a chance to potentially add up to three more. West’s decision makes him the first top-100 defensive recruit to join the class.
