Ohio State has sold its highest number of season tickets for football games in more than a decade. In response to a public records request submitted by The Dispatch, the school said it had sold 55,233 season tickets through May 26 to members of the general public and faculty and staff for the upcoming season. It’s the most non-student season tickets sold since 2011 when it reported selling 55,749. Season-ticket sales for the Buckeyes have increased in the years following the height of the coronavirus pandemic, which prompted games throughout the Big Ten in 2020 to be held in stadiums without spectators in the stands. When fans were allowed to return for games at Ohio Stadium in 2021, Ohio State sold 42,373 season tickets, then added over 11,000 for the following season as pandemic restrictions receded.
