A busy June in recruiting has paid off with Michigan State adding its first commit in two months. Reggie Powers, a 2024 three-star defensive back from Centerville High School in suburban Dayton, Ohio, announced his commitment to the Spartans via social media on Wednesday night. He picked Michigan State over his other finalists, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Northwestern. At 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, Powers is listed as the No. 57 safety and No. 585 recruit overall in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports Composite. He has picked up nearly 30 total offers, including Ohio State in March and Michigan State in May.
