WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Longtime ESPN director Kyle Brown, who worked for the network for 16 years, died “unexpectedly” Saturday after suffering a “medical emergency” at the NCAA baseball tournament in North Carolina. Brown won two Sports Emmy Awards and worked on various sports at ESPN, including baseball, basketball and football, including collegiate and “Monday Night Football.” He was working in Winston-Salem at an NCAA Baseball Super Regional at the time of his death. ESPN did not detail the nature of the medical emergency. Brown was 42. The start of Saturday’s Game 1 between the University of Alabama and Wake Forest University was delayed two hours due to a “non-game-related medical event,” USA Today reported.
