Former Ohio State football players have left Pit BBQ Grille partnership

Though several brick-and-mortar locations of a popular barbecue chain built by four longtime friends have closed their doors, rib lovers will still be able to get their fix at one of Columbus’ newest food halls. The first Pit BBQ Grille was opened in the Linden neighborhood in 2016 by former Ohio State football players Bryant Browning and Chimdi Chekwa, along with D’Andre Martin and Mike Johnson, who rapidly expanded the venture to the South Side and Clintonville. An additional site also occupied space in Dublin’s North Market. Now, two of the founders have left the partnership to focus on other interests, including their growing families. “We all started together on the restaurant concept, which was a success.
