Ohio State golfer Max Moldovan just misses out on qualifying for the U.S. Open

Buckeye forces extra holes but fails to advance on golf’s longest day Maxwell Moldovan just missed out on a spot in the U.S. Open. A qualifier in 2022, the Ohio State junior could not repeat the feat, but did manage to force some drama in a three-man playoff that also included professional golfers Alex Schaake and Dylan Wu. Needing to finish in the top five of the 75 competitors at Springfield Country Club, Moldovan shot a five-under par 65 in his first round and was two-under in his second.
