Thompson, referred to as “Slam Thompson” in a quote tweet by the Ohio State men’s basketball account, played for the Scarlet and Gray between 2011 and 2015. During his senior year, the Chicago native was the second-highest scorer on the team with 10.2 points per game. Thompson finished his final campaign in Columbus with 1,001 career points. Thompson also started each of the 35 contests in the 2014-15 season, while playing the second-most minutes on the team with 35.2 minutes per game.
