Staff reports | The Columbus Dispatch Ohio State defeated Georgia 4-3 on Friday to advance to the NCAA men’s tennis semifinals in Orlando, Florida. The Buckeyes will face TCU in a semifinal on Saturday. TCU topped Michigan 4-1. Ohio State lost the doubles point but got straight-set singles victories from Cannon Kingsley, James Trotter and Jack Anthrop to make it 3-3. Losing in singles for OSU were JJ Tracy and Justin Boulais. That left it to the remaining match, with OSU’s Alexander Bernard battling Georgia’s Miguel Perez Pena at No. 5 singles. Bernard, a freshman from Bonita Springs, Florida, won the first set 6-4 and fell behind 5-2 in the second before rallying to win the set 7-5 and clinch the match.
