Tywone Malone, former top-100 prospect, transferring to Ohio State football

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football continued its post-spring roster reinforcement with Tuesday’s addition of former Ole Miss defensive tackle Tywone Malone via the transfer portal. Malone visited Columbus the weekend of the NFL Draft with fellow transfer targets Lorenzo Styles Jr. and Josh Simmons — both of whom committed to the Buckeyes that weekend. Malone later visited Miami before deciding to join Larry Johnson’s defensive line room with the Buckeyes. Ohio State had a prior relationship with Malone from his days as a top-100 prospect out of Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey. He becomes the second incoming transfer brought in through that New Jersey to Ole Miss route, joining cornerback Davison Igbinosun.
