Brian Hartline removed from cocktail fundraiser event featuring Ohio State football coaches

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football offensive coordinator Brian Hartline’s name is no longer connected to an upcoming charitable fundraiser event — which also changed its name to no longer emphasize its connection to alcohol — following a utility terrain vehicle crash on the coach’s property earlier this week. Monday’s event at Power Plant in downtown Columbus was previously called “Coaches and Cocktails.” Now it’s billed as the “Coaches Q&A.” For $1,000 per ticket, fans were invited to participate in “an exclusive bourbon experience” and a Q&A with Hartline, coach Ryan Day and former Buckeye All-American and current assistant linebackers coach James Laurinaitis. Hartline’s name no longer appears on a promotional web page for the event. A Buckeye Cruise for Cancer spokesperson confirmed Hartline will no longer attend the event.
