CLEVELAND, Ohio — Growing up in the recruiting battleground between Columbus and Ann Arbor, Toledo Whitmer’s Carter Lowe was focused outside of the rivalry between the two programs until both showed up at his door. Lowe, who grew up an avid basketball fan, didn’t step onto a football field until last season — his freshman year — when he grew to 6-foot-6 and soon gained the attention of college programs.
