A.J. Hawk on James Laurinaitis’ return to Ohio State football, Tommy Eichenberg and beating Michigan

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A.J. Hawk has enjoyed seeing his former Ohio State football teammate James Laurinaitis back in scarlet and gray. Even when Hawk watched Laurinaitis on the Notre Dame sideline, though, he saw the passion and commitment to coaching. Now, the man who follow’s Hawk’s All-American linebacker career with one of his own, is a Buckeye graduate assistant working with the linebackers. “I think we knew back playing with James that he was going to probably be a coach someday,” Hawk said. “He’s super passionate about it, cares about it, and that’s just kind of how his brain works as a motivator.
