Ohio State QB to miss spring football game after surgery

© Provided by CFB-HQ on FanNation The quarterback competition at Ohio State took an unwelcome turn this spring after Devin Brown had to undergo surgery on a finger on his throwing hand. The surgery will mean that Brown won’t play in the Buckeyes’ spring game on Saturday, according to head coach Ryan Day. “Minor speed bump,” Brown said on Twitter. “More determined than ever! Go Bucks!” Brown and Kyle McCord have been competing for the right to succeed C.J. Stroud as the starting quarterback for Ohio State this coming season. And while the injury will keep Brown off the field in the near future, it shouldn’t prevent him from taking full part in football reps over the next few months. “He should have pretty much a full summer,” Day said.
