It’s been a flurry of commitments for the Ohio State football team as of late, and that continued on Tuesday night with the commitment of 4-star linebacker Payton Pierce. Out of Lucas Texas, the 6-foot, 1-inch, backer is rated as the No. 15 linebacker and 164th overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Pierce’s commitment makes it ten total verbals for the class. He is rated as high as No. 2 in available linebackers according to other recruiting services. Pierce chose the Buckeyes over Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and others. He had been considered a huge OSU lean as of late, and his decision to choose to play in Columbus was not a surprise.
