Ohio State football quarterback competition update: ‘We’re not there yet.’

With one week remaining in spring camp, the starting battle continues between third-year Kyle McCord and second-year Devin Brown. Day did not talk like someone who expected to come out of the April 15 spring game with absolute certainty about the position. “We’re not there yet, no,” Day said when the quarterbacks were consistently performing at the level the Buckeyes need. “But today was a step in the right direction. I like the way they competed today, took the classroom to the field. If they’re going to allow us to coach ‘em hard like that, then they’re going to get better faster. But we’ll see.
