Ohio State Takes Nearly 100-Point Lead in Directors’ Cup Standings After Prolific Winter Sports Season

A prolific winter sports season has propelled Ohio State to a sizable lead in the Directors’ Cup standings. Ohio State now has 858 points in this year’s Directors’ Cup standings, nearly 100 points more than second-place Texas (758.75), which has just a 4.25-point edge over third-place Stanford (754.5). The Buckeyes’ climb to the lead comes with five top-six finishes for its winter sports teams. Eight total winter sports teams have scored Directors’ Cup points for the Buckeyes, led by the women’s hockey team, who earned 90 points for Ohio State with its runner-up finish at the Frozen Four. The wrestling team earned 80 points with its fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
