Minnesota’s Jamison Battle staying in Big Ten, announces transfer to Ohio State


A notable player is moving from one Big Ten program to another. Jamison Battle, 6-foot-7 small forward who earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors during the 2021-22 season, announced he will transfer from Minnesota to Ohio State. Battle made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday. Battle spent two seasons with the Gophers, averaging 17.5 points and 6.3 rebounds during his first season before dipping to 12.4 points per game this past year. He spent his first two seasons at George Washington and is hoping his third program will be the one to get him to the NCAA Tournament, even though Ohio State missed the Dance this season for the first time since 2017. Ohio State finished next-to-last in the Big Ten at 16-19 overall but reached the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament.
