Will Parris Campbell start a new Ohio State football “Block O” tradition in the NFL?

COLUMBUS, Ohio — When college players were allowed to wear number 0 beginning in 2020, Ohio State football seized upon a new tradition. The “Block O” jersey is given annually to a player who embodies the legacy of Bill Willis. The All-American defensive end and member of the Buckeyes’ first national championship squad also broke the NFL’s color barrier. Perhaps Parris Campbell will start a trend of former OSU players wearing that number in the NFL. The league owners approved allowing everyone except offensive and defensive linemen to wear No. 0 beginning this season. By late Wednesday morning, the New York Giants tweeted that Campbell, their recent free-agent acquisition, would be the first from their franchise to wear the number.
