Ohio State football should take a note from Michigan’s 2022 quarterback competition


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Every recruiting target, parent and reporter who watched Ohio State football’s scrimmage on Saturday left with a unique opinion of the open quarterback competition. Buckeye coach Ryan Day wants Kyle McCord and Devin Brown to ignore those opinions. Healthy advice, though also unrealistic. In reality, how the quarterbacks react to Saturday’s post-practice chatter provides another data point for Day’s analysis. If you were scoring Saturday’s scrimmage periods as a boxing match, your card likely would have had McCord and Brown dead even for much of the day.
