Ohio State Falls Short in NCAA Women's Elite Eight Against Virginia Tech, 84-74

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ tremendous run in the NCAA Women’s Tournament came to an end Monday night with a ten-point loss to Virginia Tech, 84-74. The Buckeyes got off to a hot start with 25 points in the first quarter compared to Virginia Tech’s 22. However, this was the only frame in which Ohio State led the Hokies, as Virginia Tech won the last three quarters 26-20, 15-10, and 21-19. Ohio State senior guard Taylor Mikesell finished with 25 points, two steals, and a 7-of-10 shooting clip from three-point range.
