What’s up with Jordan Hancock as Ohio State gradually increases his workload?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jordan Hancock was supposed to be a vital part of Ohio State football’s plans defensively, but a nagging injury prevented him from doing so during the first half of the season. It’s why the Buckeyes have been carefully working him back into the fold over the last two weeks. In wins over Iowa and Penn State, Hancock played a combined 77 snaps as a backup cornerback though in both cases, the bulk of them came late in the game when things had already been decided. “It is a process,” defensive coordinator Jim Knowles said. “It is like a pitcher, that’s why they call it a pitch count because a guy can taper off as the game goes on if he hasn’t built up that stamina.” That could start to change over the next few weeks as OSU enters a part of its schedule where, on paper, not…
