Ohio State passed its biggest test of the season on Saturday and now faces perhaps its smallest one. The Buckeyes scored four touchdowns in just over six minutes in the fourth quarter to quell a Penn State upset bid, 44-31. Ohio State goes back on the road this week in a much less hostile stadium against a much less formidable opponent. Northwestern (1-7) won its opener against Nebraska in Ireland but hasn’t won since returning to the United States. Last week, the Wildcats surrendered 33 points to a feeble Iowa offense in a lopsided loss. This is not the same Northwestern team that tested Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game in 2018 and 2020.
