No.1 Tennessee would play No. 4 Clemson. Undefeated Michigan was No. 5. It wasn’t much of a surprise that the Buckeyes were in the top four of the playoff committee’s first set of rankings that were revealed on Nov. 1. Ranked No. 2 (along with Tennessee) in the AP poll, the 8-0 Buckeyes are once again on pace to be in the playoff, which last happened in 2020.
