Kirk Herbstreit takes a lot of heat as a college football analyst. Many times that heat comes from passionate Ohio State fans who feel like Herbie doesn’t back the Buckeyes strong enough as a former player. I happen to feel that Herbstreit does a very nice job of staying objective, as he should in his job, even though he bleeds scarlet and gray. So much better than the antics of say… I don’t know… Desmond Howard? In case you missed it, the ESPN analyst went full dad mode late in the game versus Wisconsin late Saturday night. The game was well in hand, many people had left the stands or turned the television off after a lopsided score.
