COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football closed the gap with No. 2 Alabama in the new Associated Press Top 25 poll. The Buckeyes remained at No. 3 behind Georgia and the Crimson Tide. However, their share of first-place votes grew from one to four. Alabama also has four first-place votes, and has a slim lead over OSU in points, 1,487 to 1,483. Georgia remains the clear consensus No. 1 with 55 first-place votes and 1,565 points. Ohio State beat Wisconsin 52-21 on Saturday, while Georgia had some trouble pulling away from Kent State, 39-22. Michigan held steady at No. 4. Penn State continued to climb, moving up three spots to No. 11. Minnesota debuted at No. 21 as the only other Big Ten team in the top 25.
