Banged-up Ohio State football beats up Wisconsin 52-21 in Big Ten tone-setter


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football opened Big Ten Conference play against Wisconsin on Saturday night bruised, but far from broken. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, expected to act as the centerpiece of an explosive passing attack, stood on the sideline in street clothes for the second time in three games. Starting cornerbacks Denzel Burke and Cam Brown — and possibly their most talented backup — also sat out with injuries. The question was whether the Buckeyes, undeniably wounded, were also weakened.
