COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jim Knowles wasn’t happy with how Ohio State football’s defense played against Toledo despite coming away with a win. The Buckeyes almost gave up as many points to Toledo as it did against its first two opponents while also allowing quarterback Dequan Finn to often run free and make plays with his legs. It doesn’t matter much when your offense scores 77 points, but Knowles can acknowledge that his side of the ball wasn’t up to par and that starts with him. “I don’t think we did a great job, and that starts with me,” Knowles said. “It was not at the level we want our defense to be — Silver Bullet caliber.
